Production Supervisor

Job Requirements

  • Technical background in Tool and Die, Maintenance, or another field.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, stand and repetitively lift, push, pull 50 or more lbs continuously throughout assigned work shift.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of LEAN standards and requirements.
  • Must have 5 or more years of experience and/or training in supervision or management.
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities, excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Essential Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned and changed as needed)

  • Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement within all aspects of the manufacturing process.
  • Oversee the leadership of production team, follow production schedule.
  • Champion product quality, workmanship, methods, and processes to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with standards, company policies, safety rules, and housekeeping standards
  • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
  • Inspire and encourage others through direct communications throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Coordinate, set up, and implement standard operating procedure for all production operations.
  • Make sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality.
  • Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals.
  • Working out the human and material resources needed.
  • Estimate costs and setting the quality standards.
  • Ensure implementation of safety procedures.
  •  Monitoring the production processes and adjusting to meet schedule as needed.
  • Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs.
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management processes and best practices.
  • Liaising among different departments.
  • Optimize resource utilization by implementation of an effective production organization.
  • Working with CEO, Directors, Managers, and other Supervisors to implement the company’s policies and goals.
  • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed.
  •  Reviewing the performance of subordinates.

  • Completing all tasks as delegated by the supervising authority.
  •  Effectively managing time and meeting all specified deadlines.
  • Complying with the industry standards and safety regulations of working.
  •   Ensuring that production goals are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a recruitment plan and calendar according to operation and sales projections.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience.
  • Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations (ADA, EEO, FMLA, FLSA) and the ability to appropriately spot employment risk issues
  • Pragmatic experience with administration of compensation and benefits
